DTS is a five-month immersive discipleship program designed to equip and develop spiritually mature, theologically grounded, and missionally equipped leaders. The school is divided into two phases: Lecture Phase and Outreach Phase.
LECTURE PHASE - To Know God
Lecture Phase consists of 11 weeks of on-site daily lectures and discipleship. During this time, you will hear from a variety of speakers covering different biblical topics and practical areas of Christian life and ministry. The goal of this phase is to help you grow deeper in your relationship with the Lord while receiving practical training in how to advance the Kingdom of God. Along with such teachings, we are committed to allowing the Holy Spirit to transform students through encounter. wholehearted devotion, biblical conviction, Spirit empowered lives, and missional purpose
Throughout Lecture Phase, there are several additional components designed to help you engage fully with what you are learning and begin putting it into practice:
Electives: you will choose from different electives to develop a deeper theological understanding in specific areas of ministry such as worship, prayer, cultural awareness, and global competency.
Leadership Labs: a practical, transformative space where you'll grow in character; and workshop skills such as healthy communication, team building, servant leadership, and conflict resolution.
Local Outreach & Evangelism: You will have weekly opportunities to go into the Columbus community and practice sharing the Gospel.
One-on-One Discipleship: You will be paired with a staff member who will meet with you weekly to coach and champion you during this experience. These meetings will include but not be limited to; discussing and processing what the Lord is speaking, discerning your calling and Kingdom assignment, keeping you accountable towards your goals, and much more.
Prayer Room: intentional times of prayer and worship together.
Small Groups: a weekly time of intimate processing, intentional prayer, and fellowship.
OUTREACH PHASE - Make God Known
Following Lecture Phase, students will participate in an eight-week outreach focused on making God known in the nations. During outreach, you will be placed on a team and sent to serve in a variety of ways. This may include evangelism, serving local churches, praying for the sick, discipling new believers, mercy ministry, and planting seeds of long-term Kingdom transformation.
